This residency is flexible and free (aside from a small application fee of $20 to make sure you’re serious and we welcome donations too!). In general, the residency runs when Rocky Mountain College is not in session, and thus studio space is widely available in Technology Hall (from late-April to mid-August as well as between Thanksgiving and Christmas). During these periods, we try to accommodate a range of projects by emerging, midcareer, and established artists. Artists stay in a private studio apartment that is connected to a house less than two miles from the studio and campus. Aside from working on your art, the only requirement is that during the following academic year, you give an hour-long virtual presentation about your work and career to Rocky Mountain College’s students. Other local exhibition and lecture opportunities may be available for interested artists. We provide studio space and an apartment, but do not provide stipends for food or travel.
